I’m Larice and I love learning and sharing how to look and feel great by eating healthy, delicious food! Getting creative in the kitchen with nutritious, wholesome, plant foods is my passion.
I truly believe we can harness the healing power of food, not only to prevent disease (which is pretty awesome) but also to achieve radiant skin, thick and shiny hair, and a strong, healthy body. When I’m not literally noshing on delicious eats in the kitchen, I’m devouring information in books, articles, and around the web about nutrition and holistic approaches to health and beauty. I look forward to sharing my winning creations in the kitchen, along with the health and beauty benefits of each recipe. All of my recipes are vegan, with most being gluten-free and refined-sugar free as well.
A Little Bit About Me
I’m 36 years
old young, married and have a beautiful, spirited, rambunctious, and sweet pre-schooler. She is the center of our lives and makes every day a lot sweeter, no sugar required! We also have three crazy, furry feline kiddos, who are always up to mischief, and making us laugh. My family and I share a love and compassion for all of earth’s creatures, which is ultimately what led me to a plant-based diet.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Therapeutic Recreation. Earning both of these degrees has given me a better understanding of wellness as a multi-faceted, complex, and harmonious interaction of mind, body, and spirit.Working in the healthcare field (which is what I do for my day job) has deepened my appreciation for and interest in disease prevention. I’ve seen firsthand the effects of poor eating and lifestyle habits and I’m determined to help others improve their health now and for life.
When I’m not cooking or reading about health and nutrition you can probably find me building some pretty awesome Lego creations with my daughter, or visiting one of the many parks in our neighborhood. I love to run, and our preferred method of traveling to said parks is by foot. When I get the chance, I love to hike, visit nearby Lake Michigan, or travel to see my family, who are the most important people to me. We try to keep life as simple and low-key as possible, that’s how we like it!
On the blog you’ll see I like to take a break from food on occasion and focus on healthy lifestyle habits, exercise, green living, and compassionate living, and even DIY skincare and natural homemade cosmetics.
